This year’s conference is in the "Red Stick", and it will be jammed packed with learning and fun. South Central is laying out the red carpet for you and is honored to host this years conference. General conference information is listed below to ensure you have a positive and enjoyable experience.

PRE CONFERENCE EDUCATION SESSIONS

We Have A Number of Pre Conference Sessions...

Two pre-conference education sessions will be offered on Tuesday, June 9th at the Belle of Baton Rouge Hotel. Food Safety, previously known as Serving It Safe, and Financial Management for Managers will be offered from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. for 8 CEU’s per session. Both courses will be conducted by representatives from the National Food Service Management Institute.

Pre-conference “fun-sessions” will be offered again this year on Tuesday and Wednesday. Dr. Nadine Mann will be teaching three sessions of Wreath Making. We are fortunate to have Madlyn Allen Hicks who will be teaching two art classes and help you “Find Your Artistic Side”. You MUST pre-register for these sessions. NO on-site registration allowed. Both classes require a $35.00 materials fee paid, in addition to your registration for conference.

SNAL Bowling Tournament

2015 Annual Bowling Tournament

Dress in Your Favorite Costume...

We want to urge everyone to participate in the Annual Bowling Tournament-Kick Off Party. It has become one of the most fun filled events for Conference. Teams should come dressed in your favorite costume and enjoy a fun time having your picture taken in the Photo Booth.

The event will be held on Tuesday, June 9th from 6:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. at Circle Bowl located at 8878 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge. All non-bowlers wishing to come cheer your co-workers on can attend for a fee of $15.00 to cover the cost of food being served. No transportation will be provided to the bowling alley this year!

Your Vote Counts in Relation to The Future of our Organisation

Voting will be held during Registration on Wednesday, June 10th from 8:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. We urge every member to make a special effort to cast your vote during this time. You must provide a picture ID when you check-in prior to voting. This is your opportunity to let your voice be heard and a way to be active in your Association.

There are choices aplenty in this years breakout sessions, we have the art of Wreath Making bought to you by Nadine Mann from the East Baton Rouge Parish, Food Safety presented by Donna Whitted who is a Training Instructor for the Department of Nutrition Services in Tennesse, Paint & Party demonstrated by Madlyn Hicks from The Paint & Party Place & Financial Management for Managers featuring Evalina Cross from NFSMI on Tuesday.

Wednesday General Session

Featuing Keynote Speaker Mamie McCullogh

During the First General Session you will be provided the opportunity to listen to Mamie McCullogh, our keynote speaker.

She is a very exciting, energetic and encouraging speaker, who is the author of several popular books including “I Can, You Can Too!”, “Get it Together and Remember Where You Put It”, and “I’m Not Waving…. I’m Drowning.” Mamie’s timeless message provides inspiration, humor and passion. She leaves audience members from school age to senior adults laughing out loud.

The First General Session all attending chapter presidents will be honored by highlighting their accomplishments during their reign as president.

A Night To Kick Your Heels Up And Put Your Dance Shoes On With Soul FX

The Night of Entertainment will be a night to kick your heels up and put your dance shoes on. The Conference Committee has gone beyond expectations to provide a night of excitement and sound…. Gospel music returns; along with music and dancing provided by Soul FX; a Caricature Artist; and a Belle of Baton Rouge Slot Tournament!

The Vendor Exhibits Will be Showcased at The Baton Rouge River Center

The Vendor Exhibition will be held in the Baton Rouge River Center on Thursday. This event showcases the latest food services industry trends, technologies & deliverables designed for our industry. The exhibition is open to all Directors, Supervisors & Purchasing Personal with in the School Nutrition Association of Louisiana network. Theres no need to bring a bag, as you will be supplied a complimentary event bag from Young Equipment Solutions.

Dinner & Second General Session

Today Sees a Huge Amount of Breakout Sessions

For the finale, Thursday evening’s theme will be “Red Carpet Night in the Red Stick.” This will be a night of elegance and a memorable time of picture taking with your friends and co-workers. This will give everyone the opportunity to put your best dress on. The attire is to be your choice of dressy or formal.

The Second General Session will include installation of SNAL officers and members of the executive board and presentation of multiple SNAL awards. The featured entertainment that evening will be Lee Marvin Adams, Comedian. Audience members can expect to hear and see an on stage standup comedy presentation that paints pictures with words.
