2018 NSLW Contest Information Packet

"School Lunch: Lots 2 Love" is the theme for the 2018 National School Lunch Week. This theme is about telling your school’s lunch story, and what makes your cafeteria a special place. Tell everyone about all the unique details that make your cafeteria a place that students want to eat every day – creative menus, choices, fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, whole grains. More than 30 million students are served a lunch every day at school by devoted school lunch staff — that is Lots 2 Love!!!

From the beginning, more that 70 years ago, the National School Lunch Program has ensured that all students receive a nutritious meal while at school. This is vital to the academic, physical, and mental success of students. It is the devotion, creativity, hard work, and love of you, the school nutrition staff, that makes serving the students possible. This week gives you the opportunity to show the impact of your meals, even beyond the classroom.

SNA members are an essential key to the success of school lunch. Spotlight school lunch with #NSLW18!! This is a great opportunity to remind students, family, staff, administration, and your community that the heart of every school beats in its cafeteria, and that we serve love on every tray. The SNA web site https://schoolnutrition.org/meetings/events/nslw/2018/ has all the resources needed to create and design your cafeteria's story. Show the love with National School Lunch Week and make it an unforgettable memory.
